Adam Akins
North American Training Manager

Adam joined Southwire in 2007.  He is an expert on Southwire's SIMpull Solutions® Innovations System.  His focus has been helping contractors and engineers use Southwire’s SIMpull® Cable Pull Calculator to plan for the safest and most efficient way to install wire and cable. Once the plan is in place, Adam and his team can effectively demonstrate and train on each piece of the wire pulling process. Equipped with this knowledge, electrical contractors are revolutionizing their standard installation methods. They become the top choice in their markets that electricians choose to work for and General Contractors want to hire.

Jeff Posey
Training Instructor, SSU East

Jeff brings 38 years of electrical experience to Southwire including the residential, commercial, control, and industrial channels. Jeff spent close to 6 years with Southwire as an Applications Engineer at the D.B. Coffer Center in the early 2000s. As well, he spent time in testing, hand tools, new product development, SIMpull Solutions®, and product support. He returned to Southwire in 2023 as a Training Instructor at Thorn Customer Solutions Center with an energetic desire to “baptize” clients in Southwire products, innovations, and solutions. He says that “working with Southwire has broken me from my ‘Old School’ ways of installing electrical components. This is a constant challenge within the electrical industry throughout the USA and Canada.”

Jeff loves spending time with family, serving in his church, shotgun shooting, and coaching youth in shooting sports.

Mason Durocher
Training Instructor, SSU East

Mason Durocher joined the Southwire Solutions University Team as a Training Instructor in August of 2023. Prior to working with Southwire, he spent 13 years in the Facility Engineering Group with the Kroger Company.  For most of that time, Mason was responsible for maintaining the electrical systems of 60 store locations. As an expert with Southwire SIMpull Solutions®, his primary goal is to ensure that all of those involved in the electrical industry are aware of the many benefits of Southwire's products and how to properly use them. Also, Mason highlights the positive impacts Southwire SIMpull Solutions® has on productivity, safety, and profitability.
