Southwire, an industry leader in cable and wire solutions, took legal action today against Go Industries, d/b/a Longhorn Reels, a Texas-based company that manufactures rotatable cable reels, accusing Longhorn Reels of infringing Southwire’s patents.
Southwire filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, asking for an injunction preventing Longhorn Reels from making, using and selling certain types of its rotatable cable reels, including its Easy All in One Reel™ and EasyReel™ Mover products, in the United States.The lawsuit alleges infringement of two patents related to rotatable cable reels. The patents involved in the lawsuit are for Southwire innovations that revolutionize the job site by allowing one person to move a reel that weighs up to 6,000 pounds without the need of pallet jacks or other equipment. Southwire’s patented innovations make it significantly easier and safer to move reels through a job site.Southwire believes that Longhorn Reels is infringing its patents covering rotatable cable reels.
