Southwire has done it again! We are proud to announce that Southwire’s Hawesville, Kentucky location tied for first place in the 8th annual Humantech® Find It – Fix It Challenge®. The contest recognizes and rewards companies who implement creative, sustainable, and high-impact solutions that address workplace efficiency. Two of our Southwire plants were named 2014 finalists.
The Find It – Fix It Challenge® derives from Humantech RAPID® Team Events that are based on quick, simple, visible changes to improve ergonomic issues on the job. These events create a focused effort that generates numerous real-time ergonomic improvements. During the four days, participants focus on the implementation of practical solutions that effectively utilize the varied skills and perspectives apparent in each organization. At the end of the team event, each team should be able to make rapid, simple improvements to ergonomic conditions that improve the safety, productivity and quality of life for employees, as well as launch an initiative that allows the ergonomics process to gain a visible foothold in the workplace. Humantech RAPID® Team Events are fueled by the Humantech Difference which is composed of three ideals: skilled ergonomists, proven approach, and practical improvements.The 2014 Finalists Were:
