Airside Electrification

Southwire is a vital supply chain partner ensuring the seamless operation of airport airside areas, including runways, taxiways, and aprons. Our innovative products and solutions power 400Hz systems, providing essential power to aircraft onboard systems while parked at the gate. We also support the electrification of ground support equipment (EGSE), enhancing overall airport efficiency. Additionally, Southwire proudly manufactures FAA-rated L-824C cable, approved for reliable runway and taxiway lighting systems.

Landside Electrification

An airport terminal building is a complex structure that relies on a variety of major electrical components to ensure smooth and efficient operations.  Southwire is a key supply chain partner for airport terminal expansion projects, providing essential wire and cable solutions for on-airport rail access projects, automated people movers, air traffic control towers, lighting systems, HVAC systems, parking garages, and other projects that involve multimodal development (i.e., linking airports to freight rail, interstates, mass transit and seaports).

Southwire SIMpull ® Cable-in-Conduit

Southwire is the only North American supplier that manufactures a full line of wire and cable products pre-assembled in an HDPE conduit and equipped with couplers and fittings, if required. Our versatile SIMpull ® Cable-In-Conduit (CIC) reduces cable damage during shipment, handling, and installation; prevents the cable jacket from being punctured, torn, or ripped during cable pulls; and protects cables from weather, wildlife, accidental dig-ins, and nearby construction projects or utility repairs or upgrades. The all-in-one installation method minimizes field injuries and reduces loss time.
