Southwire recently launched a new free mobile app for electrical contractors. The new Southwire® SIMpull® 600V Calculator app handles multiple equations and delivers NEC® compliant data specifically for an individual wire pull.
The Southwire SIMpull 600V Calculator for iOS devices can be downloaded for free. This is the latest useful app from Southwire for electrical contractors, distributors and retailers. Southwire apps have been downloaded more than 145,000 times.“The Southwire SIMpull 600V Calculator combines multiple calculators within a single app that are connected by specific wire pull characteristics,” said Rhonda Gauthreaux, Southwire VP of Marketing, Electrical. “Contractors can set up multiple projects within the app, calculate individual characteristics and from there, will be provided NEC compliant results that can be emailed. Mobile devices are extremely common on jobsites today and these apps give Southwire customers a competitive advantage by helping increase their productivity.”The app provides quick and easy navigation. After a contractor inputs the project details, the app provides calculations for each specific wire pull, including: voltage drop, ground wire sizing, phase wire ampacity, conduit fill, phase wire attributes, sidewall tension/pressure and reel size. Projects can also be stored within the app so these calculations can be referenced in the future.Southwire apps are powerful mobile tools that users can access on-the-go to help maximize productivity. Popular apps in the series include Southwire’s Voltage Drop Calculator, Conduit Fill Calculator, MCAP® Cable Savings Benefit Calculator, Partial Reel Calculator and Conversion Calculator.“Southwire Mobile Apps help customers ‘Keep it SIMpull™’ even when they are on a jobsite,” said Gauthreaux. “We are investing in the development of mobile apps because they help contractors get the job done right the first time.”- Whitney Agan
